BAföG: Rejections due to missing documents

The BAföG Office reports that an increased number of unpleasant notifications to applicants can currently be expected. A large number of BAföG applications, mostly from the years 2022 and 2023, could not be finally processed. One of the main reasons for this is the lack of necessary evidence and documents.

Many applicants have not submitted the required documents despite requests to do so. As a result, these applications now have to be rejected, in some cases after more than a year. The office has already started to write to those affected who have not responded to the additional requests. This means that students may receive rejection notices in the next few days due to a lack of cooperation.

If misunderstandings have occurred, for example due to undelivered mail, the BAföG Office will try to respond to individual wishes and needs if possible.
