Sustainability award for Studierendenwerk
Successful collaboration: In November, RWTH awarded this year's sustainability prize to Studierendenwerk/RWTH event management team (Press Department), among others. The team submitted their jointly developed concept for "reusable cups in the event area" and won funding for around 8,000 reusable cups, which the dining department of Studierendenwerk will manage logistically in future. The idea came about during the RWTH's Science Night, when the focus was on a resource-saving solution for cups.
Seven award winners
The aim of the initiative is to make university operations more sustainable, reduce their ecological consumption of resources in the interests of climate neutrality and actively shape responsible, inclusive cooperation. An expert jury consisting of representatives from the Rectorate and the Sustainability and University Governance Unit selected what they considered to be the seven best sustainability projects from all the submissions. Congratulations to all the winners for their innovative ideas!
