Dining hall offers expanded

On the way to normality: Due to the declining infection figures, we intend to expand our dining hall offer again.

On Monday, 21 June, we will reopen the seating area in Mensa Academica so that our guests can once again eat inside the facility. The current emergency food supply is no more taking place and is replaced with an expanded food offer. In addition to the meat/fish and vegan/vegetarian dishes, the specialty counters will again offer burgers, salads, pasta and pizza (rotating weekly), and wok dishes. Take away will still be available.

The seating area is located on the 1st floor of the dining hall and is accessible between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Each guest staying there must make a guest registration. There is no change in the access restriction. We are still only allowed to serve university members (students and staff). Therefore, we continue to ask all guests to prove their university affiliation at the entrance.

The Dining Department is also planning additional facility openings:

28 June: AcademiCaffè in Mensa Academica (8-11 a.m.).
28 June: Mensa Eupener Straße (take away and sitting in offer 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m./Fridays until 2 p.m.)
7 July: “Eishütte“ (Gelateria) at Pontwall (noon-15 p.m.)
12 July: Mensa Jülich (take away and sitting in offer 11:30 a.m. -14:30 p.m./Fridays until 2 p.m.)
1 September: Opening of the sitting in offer in Mensa Vita 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (delay due to work on the fire alarm system).

Of course, all necessary hygiene and infection control measures will be implemented in the dining halls. We look forward to being on duty again more for our guests starting next week. On our channels we will inform about current developments and possible changes of the start dates.
