Daka loan: Centralization of application processing

The Daka loan - the student financing of the Studierendenwerke loan fund - is an interest-free financing option during your studies, for which you can apply for up to 12,000 euros.

Until now, the individual Studierendenwerke have been responsible for processing applications and providing advice. This will change: The Daka general meeting decided this year to centralize the processing of Daka applications from 2025. From January 2025, all applications - both online and in paper form - will therefore be processed exclusively by the Daka office in Cologne. Daka application processing will therefore no longer take place at the Studierendenwerke.

It is already possible to submit new applications. In order to further improve the service, the office will continuously expand its advisory services in the coming months and adapt them to demand. Among other things, comprehensive online help is planned, which will offer support both before the application is submitted and directly in the online application.
