Daka student loans: Now available to apply online

Interest-free Daka student loan: Now available to apply online!

  • Darlehenskasse der Studierendenwerke (Daka) launches its digital online application portal
  • Uncomplicated and fast help for students in financial need
  • Now new: loan applications can be made online, 24 hours a day
  • Loans of up to 12,000 euros possible

For some students, being able to devote themselves to their studies free of financial worries is not a matter of course. All the better, then, that Daka exists - the loan fund of the 12 student unions in North Rhine-Westphalia. The non-profit organization has been granting interest-free loans to students in financial need for more than 70 years.

Now Daka is launching a new digital online application portal. The portal allows students to apply quickly and easily 24 hours a day.

Students can apply for up to 12,000 euros in maximum loan amounts from Daka; this can be up to 1,000 euros per month. In addition to its student loans, Daka also grants loans of up to 6,000 euros specifically for semesters abroad. Repayment usually begins twelve months after the end of the payment, but can be flexibly postponed even further.

"We are pleased to be able to support students in financial need even better with the introduction of the online platform," says Dr. Christoph Holtwisch, Chairman of the Board of Daka. "The online application portal represents the consistent further development of our existing offer and corresponds to the usage behavior of young people."

Darlehenskasse der Studierendenwerke e.V. (Daka) is the largest loan fund of student unions nationwide. In the latest student loan test conducted by Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung (Center for Higher Education Development - CHE), it once again received an excellent rating.
