Deutsches Studentenwerk becomes Deutsches Studierendenwerk

• Association renames itself after 101 years
• Studenten and Studierendenwerke vote for new name with large majority
• Secretary General Matthias Anbuhl: "We are there for all students. This is now also expressed in our name"

 
Berlin, 7 December 2022. Deutsches Studentenwerk, the association of 57 Studenten and Studierendenwerke, is changing its name to Deutsches Studierendenwerk. This was decided by the Studenten and Studierendenwerke today, Wednesday, 7 December 2022, at their general meeting in Berlin.

"We are committed to all students in Germany. This is now also expressed in our name," Matthias Anbuhl, Secretary General and Executive Board, commented on the decision. "Our members absolutely support this decision."

"We will now gradually implement the new name in all our digital and analog media," said Anbuhl.
