Berlin. „#nextgeneration: Studying in the future“: In the new poster contest for design students Deutsches Studentenwerk (DSW) asks how students imagine what’s studying going to be like in the future. How far will digitalization develop? What will academic learning and teaching look like in the year 2050? What visions, pictures and dreams about tomorrow do students have today?

The contest begins in the winter term 2018/19 for all public and state-accredited design universities throughout Germany. Students who study graphic design, communication design and visual communication can participate.

A five-person expert jury will distribute 10 000 € prize money in total. The 30 best posters will tour Germany for two weeks and be displayed in different Studentenwerke and Studierendenwerke. The contest is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research; The Museum for Communication Berlin is cooperation partner.

The posters are submitted to Deutsches Studentenwerk digitally through an online form. The jury makes a preliminary selection and probably in the end of April 2019 the winning posters will be chosen from that “short list”.

The award presentation is going to be on Monday, 24 June 2019 at the Museum for Communication Berlin.

The jury for the 33rd poster contest:

  • Prof. Uli Braun, Professor for typography and graphic design at FHWS Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften Würzburg-Schweinfurt
  • Prof. Richard Jung, Professor for Communication Design and Corporate Identity at Hochschule Niederrhein
