KaWo 3: 25 Apartments already have a bathroom!

Stylish, bright, with modern tiles and high-quality equipment – these are the bathrooms of the new residence hall KaWo 3. The structures of the four building parts have yet to be finished but the two dozen bathrooms in building parts 1 and 2 (on the picture first and second building from left to right) look as though they can already be used.
Every millimeter counts
In its biggest construction project of the past few years Studierendenwerk works with pre-built bathrooms that are delivered to the construction site in one piece. At the end of January the bathrooms were fitted into the future apartments. 25 wet rooms are already installed and 264 are yet to come.
Modern technology
Each bathroom has a floor area of 3,7 to 5,5 square meters (disabled-accessible). All supply and waste lines are pre-installed at the backs of the wet rooms so they only need to be connected on the construction site. Even though the positions of every single bathroom had to be marked in the ground plans, the use of pre-built bathrooms reduces the construction period by two months.
Open arcades connect the entrances
Each building part has a central stairwell with elevator and the entrances to each apartment are connected by arcades. That means that the future residents step outside instead of into a hall when exiting their apartments.
