Studierendenwerk opens new Bistro at Kackertstraße

Today at 8 am, three colleagues opened the doors of the new, small but charming to-go cafeteria on Kackertstraße for the first time. At the request of RWTH Aachen University, a permanent dining facility in fixed premises has long been planned for students and employees of the local institutes. Vacant premises at Kackertstraße 10 were available, where Studierendenwerk has now set up a cozy bistro. Arno Mattes, head of the dining department at Studierendenwerk, wants to create a solid and reliable offer for guests. “The dining options in this area are rather limited. Now we are creating a permanent venue in the middle of the institute area. We hope that our range of food will be well received!”

A variety of hot dishes
What does the bistro offer? All food and drinks are available for takeaway only. You can choose from vegetarian dishes, burritos, currywurst with bread, pinsa with various toppings, salad bowls, snacks, chicken Bratrollen, and tomato and pepper slices. Also available daily: a variety of savory and sweet snacks such as muffins. The bistro is currently open from 8 am to 3 pm. Payment is cashless only, using university cards or student guest and guest cards from Studierendenwerk. Guest cards can be purchased at the cash desk.

What will happen to the food truck?
The food truck has served us well, but will be replaced by the bistro. Its future use is still unknown, but we are sure to find a good place for it. Some plans already exist.
