Try now: Monsooned Malabar

We serve something very special in the Caffè-Lounge of Mensa Bayernallee: Drinks that are made from "monsooning coffee beans". They get their name from a special storage system that gives the coffee a sweet-nutty note.
The origin of “Monsooning” lies in India: From there the raw coffee was transported to England by boat in the 17th century. Because of the storage conditions on the boat the coffee was constantly exposed to monsoon rain. The humidity changed the coffee beans in structure, size and colour and made them develop a special aroma. The new sort of coffee became well-known in Europe as an excellent coffee blend. Today, the raw coffee gets artificially watered ("monsooning") in special warehouses
By the way: Just like the beans of our "AcademiCaffè" the "Monsooned Malabar" beans are roasted by hand in the Aachen coffee roastery "Maqii".
