How we are organized
Studierendenwerk Aachen is a legally capable institution of public law with the right of self-administration. According to the mandate laid down in the Studierendenwerk Act of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia, it bears the economic and organizational responsibility for university dining halls, student residence halls, student financing (BAföG), childcare and social counseling.
Corporate Structure
The CEO runs Studierendenwerk Aachen and conducts the business. Furthermore, he represents Studierendenwerk legally and judicially. In addition to the CEO, the Studierendenwerk management consists of the heads of the departments Housing, Dining, Administration, Accounting, Construction and Facility Management, Childcare and Finance.
The Administrative Board is in charge of controlling the CEO’s activities, especially the organization and accounts as well as his adherence to financial and economic principles. In addition to taking many individual measures the Administrative Board makes decisions about general business actions in Studierendenwerk Aachen. The Administrative Board establishes the company budget.
Studierendenwerk has four sources of revenue to finance its tasks. The main source is the gross income that covers about 58 percent. Government grants and the social fee paid by students to the Aachen universities are the second important sources and each cover 20 percent. The social fee amounts to €108 per semester and student. The fixed sum granted by the North Rhine-Westphalian Government funds 10,9 percent. Other sources cover approximately 2 percent.

Wir sind zur Teilnahme an einem Streitbeilegungsverfahren vor einer Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle nach dem Verbraucherstreitbeilegungsgesetz (VSBG) weder bereit noch verpflichtet.
